Allsports Break Guinness World Record
The Guinness World Records have confirmed that the Allsports 'Skittle Marathon' World Record attempt was successful, smashing the previous record by 9 hours! Andy Collins & Craig Carter successfully reached the 27 hour target and went on to complete 36 hours to set a new World Record. However, much of the credit was down to the fantastic support from the rest of the team!
Jock, Marc & Colin H took control of camera, stopwatch and paperwork duties to ensure that there weren't any slip-ups. There were heroics from the Stickers; Chris & Scott completed the first 4 hours and then Mick the Greek (Blister Boy) did 6 hours solid by himself. Lloyd & Paul went beyond the call of duty to do 8 hours solid during the 'Graveyard' shift (11pm - 7am) - staggering! Joe, Aide, Steve, Martin, Marc, Terry Miller, Allan, 2 fine looking women did long stints AND EVEN COMEDY DAVE did 5 mins. Jock and Scott also provided much of the entertainment, especially Scott's rendition of "20 German Bombers" during the early hours. The team took action when he started singing it again on Saturday afternoon!
Many thanks to the Witnesses, Charlton Club committee, family and friends (Sue, thanks for the food!), and to everyone who contributed to a memorable couple of days! 50 hours next time?!
